Weeks 1–2
Pain
Calm the pain down.
Hands-on work at the irritated segment and the muscles guarding it takes the edge off, starting your very first visit.
What We Treat
The ache that sets in by the third meeting. The blind-spot check you now do with your whole body. It’s fixable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.
Sound Familiar?
Two or more? You’re the one who keeps everything running, which is exactly why you’re last on your own list. Keep reading.
Why It Happens
Your neck doesn’t hurt for no reason. And it’s almost never just one thing. It’s usually some mix of four culprits: an irritated joint or disc in the neck referring pain into the shoulder blade or down the arm. Segments that got stiff and stopped sharing the work of turning your head. Deep neck and mid-back muscles that quietly gave out, leaving your head to hang forward off its base. And the daily setup, monitor height, phone position, the pillow you sleep on, that keeps reloading the same tissue before it settles.
None of that shows up on a quick glance. It takes a real, cause-first evaluation to sort out which one is actually driving your pain. That’s why heat, rest, or a generic stretching sheet so often falls short: they treat the symptom, not the source. Find the real cause, and the fix gets obvious.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. The regret we hear about is always the waiting.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what the four phases look like for a neck.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Hands-on work at the irritated segment and the muscles guarding it takes the edge off, starting your very first visit.
Weeks 2–6
Prime
Targeted mobility work restores the rotation your neck has been avoiding, so turning your head stops being a decision.
Weeks 6–10
Perform
Progressive deep neck and mid-back strengthening builds the support your head was missing in the first place.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
Your desk, your sleep position and your overhead work get tested under real conditions before you’re cleared to go all-in: that’s the endpoint, not just another appointment.

Questions, Answered
Usually not, and it’s rarely the first step. Neck pain commonly improves without imaging, and scans routinely show disc changes and wear and tear in people who have no pain at all, so a picture doesn’t always point to the real cause. We start with a hands-on evaluation to find what’s actually driving your symptoms, and if imaging ever becomes genuinely necessary, we’ll help you get it. You don’t have to wait on a scan to start feeling better.
Often, yes. Headaches that start at the base of the skull and wrap toward the eye are frequently driven by the joints and muscles of the upper neck, and those respond to hands-on treatment and targeted strengthening. Your evaluation checks whether your neck is actually the source. If it is, treating the neck is what changes the headaches.
That depends on what the evaluation finds and how long you’ve been carrying it, so we won’t guess before we’ve looked. What you get either way is a plan with an endpoint: four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, and you’ll always know which one you’re in and what’s left. Not an open-ended string of appointments.
